Water Pump Issue
Have been topping up the coolant for the past few weeks about a cup full at a time. Finally just this morning noticed a wet patch on the ground under the cam belt side, so presume its the water pump although a new one was fitted in 2011 with belt & tensioner 20,000 miles ago. I am considering Novastop Leak sealer as had a Fiat with the head gasket leaking outwardly last year and got prices of 800.00 to do the job and one Garage suggested this liquid. Initially I said no as it would I thought gunk up the system, eventually I did put it in, it didn't even discolour the coolant and after 20 min drive the leak out the side of the head and block was stopped, so still never did the gasket and the car has been fine with no loss of coolant. If the water pump is leaking does it mea n the bearing is worn. Coming over to MG 90 in June, wonder if its worth the risk. THe timing belt isn't due for another year. Any advice welcome.:confused:
