Rover owners: 1.8T Alternator Belt Replacement

Noticed a noise whilst out driving last night and when I had a look under the bonnet I noticed my alterantor belt has split in 2 (but still works!)

Anyway, thought it would be a quick case of slackening off some bolt son the alternator then noticed you cant fit it without removing another belt so checked in the manual and to remove that belt you have to remove the PS belt too. Is that correct? ie remove the PS belt, then accessories belt then you can do the alternator? Seems like a right faff

Also, is the manual th ebest way to do it and can you do it from "above" or should I be removing the inner wheel arch liner. Any, help much appreciated! :-)
