Airbag light sorted at last..........I hope

I think I've finally sorted the airbag light after 6 months of trying. I did the usual unplug/plug routine with the yellow connectors under both front seats. This had mixed results. Then I did the spraying with contact spray, which worked for a day or so before the light came back on. Frustrating.



Then, last weekend I unbolted the seats, cut off the connectors and soldered up the airbag wiring, before wrapping in heat shrink material. Thought I'd sorted it but the light came on after about 80 miles. Gutted. This weekend, I unbolted the seats again and soldered up the seat belt pre-tensioner wiring, which I should have done first time round. Bingo! I think it's finally solved it. All it cost was about £13 for the solder iron kit and some perseverance. Maybe a little too early to call but it certainly feels more reliable than previously, no flickering, nothing. Recommend doing all four whilst the seats are up but disconnect the battery for 20 mins prior to starting. I got all the advice from this great forum, so thanks everyone!
