amp stopped working
Today, drove somewhere in the morning, subs in the back working perfectly.
Parked up, when I got back, a few hours later, the subs weren't working (at this point, I opened boot, just looked at wiring to make sure it was all secure - it was, but didnt check if the on light was on).
I drove around a bit, they started working again, then stopped once more. I thought, maybe the battery had discharged below the amp's working capacity bc the alternator was working overtime, so I turned the radio off, removed the satnav charger, and revved high, but it didn't turn back on (I don't know if any of that would help at all, but desparate times)
Back home, checked the RCAs hadn't wobbled loose, and gave the remote wire a tug. The remote came loose (not soldered, physical connection), so I reconnected. Look in the boot, the on light isn't on when the car is.
I'm going to check Power-Ground voltage, Remote-ground voltage, and all the fuses tomorrow when it's sunny
Anyone have any initial ideas as to what it could be?
Also, I heard the remote voltage should be 5V, but I've also heard that if you bypass the actual remote wire by connecting the live wire and remote terminal, the system will still turn on? Is this a good idea? I don't want to blow a fuse because of trying it
