Cam belt life

Just asking the forum,

those who have changed their cam belts how bad was the condition for it's age

I have fitted a few over the years to my personal cars and to be honest they all looked in pretty good condition but the age/mileage of all the belts removed was unknown.

Question is has anyone on here had their timing belt fail? was it more the tensioner giving up. water pump leaking or hgf

My reason for the question is I had the option of refitting a front t/belt with only 2000 mls use and was fitted less than 1year previous as I no longer need the rear vvc belt or fit a new one
