Changing water pump on k series engine
Hi,
If the timing belt and tensioner are in known good condition on a 4 cylinder k-series engine can the a leaking water pump simply be replaced by securely clamping the belt to the cogs on the crankshaft and camshaft so that the timing isn't messed up, replacing the punp and then retensioning the tensioner?
I've spotted a clean 1.8 litre low mileage rover 75 going at a good price which needs a replacement water pump.
Regards,
Dipole.
