Hatchback hinge welding?

I appear to need some plates made up as my hinges have rusted were they fix to the body. So looks like lining down and some welding needed as might as well get it cut out and new plates put in which will burn the paintwork on the roof I expect. What guide price can I expect tp pay someone to do this for me so I can go armed to my local mechanic? Car is a 220 gti if this is important
