Heater Matrix

I am planning on changing my heater matrix soon as I am losing coolant when I put the heaters on inside the car. I have not noticed any wet foot wells but I have smelt coolant whilst driving. After having the thermostat and the SAAB valve changed I thought this was the next step. Am I correct in thinking the heater matrix is located in the middle behind the dash board?
