MG ZR Brake advice (upgraded brakes)
Hi all
i bought a lovely MG ZR DERV a couple of years ago from a member on here (i cant remember who it was) and its been great, however it has just failed an MOT on its brakes, not a big deal in itself.
However it has had its brakes among other things upgraded, i do have cardboard tear off of the replacement parts and they are Bosch BD1276 disks and Bosch BP397 pads (marked honda accord).
Anyway when i replaced the CV joints I found the shims that i thought held the pads in place was damaged and bent on one side with a little reshaping with a hammer and screw driver i got them into a better shame but they were never right, i had to wiggle them around quite a lot once the caliper was back together to stop them squeeking, now the problem, they are tight on one side and as such are causing a slight binding, not much but enough to fail an MOT.
Does anyone recognize these shims, not sure if they are from a 160 but i cant find a new set so that i can replace them with new better fitting ones.
any help in identifying them would be appreciated as i am sure many people have done this upgrade, i knew it would be an issue at some point as i had not done the upgrade myself, other than that if the original owner (from Norfolk) sees and recognizes this or anyone else that can identify them lets me know what they are from i would appreciate it so i can buy new replacements, tempted to ditch them to be honest but if they was on it originally there must have been a reason.
