Rover owners: Rubber hose fitting

After struggling to remove the SECOND hose that split since the engine rebuild I managed to fit another good hose, and struggled a bit under the car to fit the hose to the plastic "pipe" under the car (the one that leads into the cabin for the heater I guess) struggle as much as I could I could not get it to fit the last 2 mm ... at the risk of sounding obsessive is it ok to leave clipped in as seen below?? I'm assuming it is but you know paranoid we get about coolant loss!!! Tomorrow I will fill the coolant and bleed ... unless you think I ought to persevere and get it sorted??
