speedo not working rover 75 diesel, 52reg.

hi guys, speedo packed up last week. fuel gauge started to play up couple days later. got 2nd hand instrument panel but no change. put the old i/panel back and now fuel gauge works but still no speedo.

i believe there is a speed sensor on gearbox? rear wheels?



any advice greatly appreciated.
