ZT 1.8T problems

got myself a MG zt 1.8T with engine problems. has hg failure as oil in coolant. also it wount start and seams low on compression. what would be thee handyiest fix? just a hg or drop a new engine in? also what sorta upgrades is out there like a forage kit? biger injectors? biger turbo? any info is apreceated thanks will
