Bench Test Spheres
I was concerned that one of my spare spheres was suspect so I got a pair of outer sphere clamp plates from ebay. Bolting them together with a bit of box section fitted between the two bottom bolts allows pumping the spheres up to pressure without blowing out the bottom diaphragm. Planning to leave it at 450psi for as couple of days and see if there is any pressure loss or fluid leak.
The pump, by the way, is a plumbers pressure testing unit available on fleabay for around £85. Easily goes to 450psi and has a good displacement, only needing 10-12 strokes from an empty sphere. Trimming height just needs a couple of strokes. It doesn't come with the Schrader adaptor, so that plus a few fittings is an extra.
The kit in the background of the first pic is my nitrogen bottle & regulator for re-filling the top gas.
