Camping weekend for MGs in the Park - Sat May 31st/Sun June 1st
Last year a small group of us make a weekend of Mgs in the Park, staying a couple of miles down the road in Lechlade on Thames.
We had some great weather and it made for a really good weekend so we are planning on doing it all again.
We are planning to stay on the Saturday night before the show and on the Sunday after it. The camp site is five minutes easy walking (apart from the swans) to the picturesque town centre (which had four pubs, an award winning chip shop (can't comment on that as they shut early on a sunday it seems) and a year round christmas decorations shop!)
Was a nice well placed camp site, clean facilities and relaxed friendly owners and so we are planning to camp there again, its the Bridge House Campsite (GL7 3AG) Lechlade on Thames. Telephone number is 01367 252348
Campsite cost is £8 per night per person (with I think a £20 deposit for the fob to get you into the campsite - refundable when you leave)
I Have booked a couple of pitches but probably easier if everyone books direct. When I spoke to them they were fine for space
If anyone fancies staying over but not in a tent I did notice the nearest pub to the campsite also offered rooms, their website is http://ift.tt/1mm2jeE
The Campsite
The walk to the town(pub)
The Thames (from the pub)
Photos from last year here in fact.
We also organised a group run down there on the Saturday last year, but we are thinking if the wether is good we may travel down and pitch Friday evening, but will see nearer the time what the weather is looking to do.
Details of the MGs in the Park event itself are here;
'The day out at the Cotswold Wildlife Park in Oxfordshire offers free entry to MG drivers(with any passengers paying Cotswold Wildlife Park's group discount price for entry), an organised run and a chance to see some animals...'
Would be great to have a group of us there again this year as it really made the weekend :broon:
I'll start a list...
