Central locking?

Funny thing happened this am. Parked up and locked the car on the key fab, as usual. However this am, went to pack the car and lo and behold, it didn't recognize the signal from the key fob. This has never happened before. Whilst scratching my head, the wife went to the drivers door and with her spare key opened it manually. She said she was expecting the car to go berserk but all was well, Got in and headed for home. A few hours later, stopped for a coffee and locked the car via the key fob..it worked..Upon return, the key worked as it has always done. Have checked it several times since but all is good. Any pointers please...I assume the central locking control is the one in the drivers door! - is it on the way out? Have done a search but am still not quite sure.

Any advise would be most welcome
