Hood Removal and Fitting

My hood is starting to look decidedly tatty, it's still waterproof, and folds up and down easily enough. But I'm trying to smarten things up a bit and starting to look at various options.

I have seen plenty of new hoods knocking about at what appear to be reasonable prices. But I am concerned about removal of the old hood and fitting the new one.



I'm by no means a skilled mechanic, but I have access to plenty of tools and I can usually do a reasonable job with cosmetic things. From the how to's I have looked at, it looks pretty fiddly but generally a do able job. How big a job is fitting a new hood? I don't want to end up with a stripped frame and not be able to put the new one together.
