Fuel pump timing

I have a week off work so I figured its a good time to have a good look round the engine and try and sort a few things out. The pump timing is the main thing. I have a Haynes manuel and a tool chest full of tools. Is there a guide on here somewere that tells you how to check it and if needed correct it? I'm iseless with the search function and I've never found anything whilst using it. What drill bits are needed to lock the flywheel and pump? I'm hoping to have a bash at it tomorrow :)
