possible new owner saying hello

hi there :) i have my eye on a mg zr or a zs,and ive signed up to get as much info as i can ive always liked the rover 600 and the zr and zs and now i want one,i never bought one as i was too worried about head gaskets etc,is every engine in the k series range affected by head gasket failure, the mg is going fairly cheap on the sites,and im handy with the tools, so i could do repairs myself, should my main concern just be the head gasket,or is there other costly things to look out for thanks for your help
