Removing rubber seal front windscreen

I have two nasty rust areas on the joints on the top of the front windscreen under the rubber seal.



I want to treat it but is it hard to remove the rubber seal? I just need it out of the way a bit when grinding the rust away.

Can't seem to find anything on the forum about it. Or am I not looking hard enough?



I hope/think it is just as straight forward as removing the trim and the locking clips for the hood....but it might be wishful thinking.
