Solid flywheel ZT CDTI- All good..so far!
I've just changed the flywheel, clutch and slave on my ZTT after the old slave died and sprayed dot 4 everywhere inside the bell housing. To save the bill I did it on the drive with my neighbour's help. It took us over a week to do in the evenings and weekend but it's not too bad if you have the time available to do it properly. The old clutch and slave were only done three years ago at a garage and the clutch had never really felt right since so this time I wanted to make sure everything was changed once the box was off. I know the general advice is to avoid solid flywheels but I've fitted one anyway :s and so far, 500 miles on, everything is good. The only difference I have noticed to before is a slight resonance as you accelerate through 60 mph. No other strange nosies or loss of smoothness really. Feels much better than last time! I'll post again if I end up snapping the crank though!
