speakers cut out now srs light on

My zr mk2 had a Kenwood stereo in it that had been there for years it seems, but yesterday at random the speakers would cut out for 10 to 20 second and then come back on for no apparent reason. The stereo is still working fine as I can see the timer is still ticking on and when the sound comes back on the music is in the right place for that time.



I assume that a wire must have come loose somewhere (all speakers cut out) but my bursts concern is the srs light is now also coming on intermittently. Sometimes it won't come on, other times it'll come on when I turn the ignition and stay on and other times it'll go off then come back on a few seconds later.



Any ideas what it could be? Don't think it'll be a fuse as it's intermittent but am open to suggestions to check.
