Window adjustment the hard way........

Ever start a job and wish you hadn't? I did last Monday. As I fitted a replacement hood scourced from a scrappy a while back and the windows were in dire need of realignment, but knowing modern fastening techniques I was really not looking forward to taking the door cards off. Alas, Monday arrives with perfect weather so nothing for it but to bite the bullet and set to it. Started with passenger side, fairly uneventful, not a perfect seal but door fits without the glass catching, but I felt I was fumbling about in the dark, I read various how toos on here and whilst they said what to do I didn't understand all of what I was reading, hence when doing the drivers side I raised the window with the glass stop slackened, and yes, window goes up and then goes up some more and stays up. Doh! It refuses to budge more than a few mil. I know what's next and and really not happy, read more of the how toos and become aware this could go south rather quickly, so I read again, and then some more, have a cup of coffee, and read it all again. Still to be convinced I have any clue what needs to be done, I set too and remove the electric window mech and the window as well. Gave the glass a good clean check mech was working ok and refitted it, refitted the glass and now with a proper understanding of the mech and what adjustment did what obtained a superbly tight tot the rubber seal of window to hood, still no idea why window stuck, in all it took me all day to do. Proof of the pudding was the torrential down pour on Monday night resulted in not one drop of water ingress into the cabin.
