:( dead Trophy

Last weekend... out for a cruise... everything hunky dory... car running ace.



parked up... idling perfectly -at home, stopped engine.. locked it up...





today... unlocked it.. tried to start it... really sluggish turn over on the starter... like a flat battery... coughed but wouldnt start...



put battery on charge...



tried again.. fired up, sounds like a bag of hammers in it.. immediately..turn it off..



probably too late.. i think either the cam belt has failed or its dropped a valve



since now upon trying one more time... the starter is wizzing round.. like the engine has no compression



I think its a total failure of the cambelt, but i wont know till i look..





i am only glad it didnt happen on the way to MG90... there or back...



i just cant understand how the car could be running so perfectly... then with

no forewarning, just a week sitting doing nothing, and be so totalled..



so.. i hope the Freestyle is of better temperament... its going to be my transport for a while...



and it looks like the Vectis is back on hold, till i find out how much the Trophy is going to cost to fix...
