drivers door lock

Well Ive started on the restoration of my cheap Rover 75, the "blown head gasket" somone had diagnosed ended up being a stuck thermostat and a split expansion tank. All fixed , Running great now.

Ive got an issue with the drivers door lock.

Using the remote ,all four doors lock correctly, once locked however he drivers door wont unlock with the remote of the key but the other three doors unlock function fine and act as they should.

Once locked the only way to unlock the door is to used the interior drivers door handle. I have pull the solenoid out,cleaned it etc but no difference.



Would a faulty solenoid prevent the drivers door unlocking by using the key ?
