EKA success

As with a number of cars, it didn't come with the EKA written down anywhere. And as I only have one fob to, I bit the bullet and bought the EKA from one of those web sites (MG ROverCodes I think?) for £20.



Just tried it, and it works! Although it doesn't if the bonnet is up...Basically I had the car locked in the garage but with the bonnet up. Tried the code with the spare key I had cut (so no fob nearby), and it did get me into the car. I tried a wrong number and the car did "beep" me when I opened the door, as described in the handbook. So repeated it with the correct code, and no "beep" so the car had accepted the code. Waited the 5mins before trying to start the car. But all I got was the warning beeping when the key was turned to the starting position and the car would not start. Could not figure that out. So finally shut the bonnet, repeated it all again and the started fine after the 5min gap.



So thankfully, in my case, the EKA code from the suppliers was the correct one for the car. Just need to get another key fon then I'll be fully sorted.
