Immobiliser Problems?

Hi,

Hope you don't mind me posting here, my car is not actually a metro but has a 1.4k SPI from a metro and I was hoping someone could help.

Ive been getting my car ready for its MOT retest (bleed brakes and fit new switch for rear fog lamp) took it for a quick test drive and all seemed well.

Parked the car, locked it with the fob, key still in the ignition, (is open topped) came back about an hour later unlocked it and the starter wont turn. I can here the pump prime, dash lights come on but it will not turn over.

Could I have put the immobiliser out of sinc somehow by using the fob whilst the key is still in the ignition?

I have tried disconnecting the battery and shorting the 12v - 0v leads for 30 mins, removing battery's from fob and replacing.

Any ideas?
