Sound system

Mate of mine who is helping me with the custom loom popped over today

He used to build 'sound off' cars a few years back

We got chatting about my car's sound system.. And asked what I'd planned.

I'm not into car hifi like I am house hifi.. So was asking for his input..

As well as new door speakers and new speaker cables.. And the I phone mirror head unit.. I was planning a sub.. But due to air con and RX8 seats an under/behind seat install is out.. As is behind glove box..

So he started talking to me about a parcel shelf build.. Which could be unplugged and lifted out..

Now I'm already underway with the 'pod' to do away with the rear section of the hood and have the pod cover the folded top.. So parcel shelf install could be possible..

Anyone done such an install?

The engine bay cover will be double glazed Lexan.. So heat unlikely to be an issue.. The car has already been extensively sound proofed..

The speakers in the T bar won't be going back into the usual box thing as I'm making a pair of structural roll hoops.. But plan to install a pair of 6x4 or 6x9 in t bar..

But it's the sub that I'm having issues with.. A parcel shelf install could well work..

Input/thoughts anyone?

Oh and no.. I'm not ripping out the centre arm rest to fit one.. As I plan to fit my I phone into the arm rest
