starter motor light stuck on

Hi guys I recently had a problem with my starter motor light on, upon checking the wire I found the main lead from the battery directly to the starter was broken so I've reconnected it. Now the car starts however the lights still on and I've noticed the heated rear screen is constantly on ...draining my battery even if the car isn't on. I've been told it's likely a broken wire or 2 behind the head unit on the loom there? Has anybody experienced this? Any other suggestions or possible causes are welcome !
