Alternator belt
Gave the old girl some revs and had a few seconds of a flapping noise. Wtahced temp which was fine. Then noticed the charging light was on. So, assuming the belt has gone, is it as easy as the manual implies?
I'm also a bit stumped at the menthod of tensioning:
7. Apply a force of 10 kg to alternator drive belt at
position X and measure the deflection
between crankshaft pulley and alternator
pulley. Deflection must be 6 - 8 mm.
any easy ways?
Finally, are all 1.8 belts the same?
