Engine Management Light Comes on

Hi .

The engine management light came on and so I sent off for an Elm327 diagnostic dongle to check what the issue was. There were no stored codes in the ECU, however there were 2 codes in the 'Pending log.'

These codes were P0130 and P0135. I believe these are related to the O2 sensors on the CAT.

With the Elm327 device using the free-ware Torque software, I can reset the engine management light and this also clears the Pending log.

This weekend I put the car into have it MOT'd and it failed first time on emissions. Chap who Mot'd it told me to take it for a thrash up the local by-pass and then bring it back, which I did and it just about passed.

From what I have seen, do you chaps think that I will need to replace sensors or could it be the CAT? I know that I can probably get more information from Torque Pro, but my Android tablet doesn't have Bluetooth on it...any advice on that?

After clearing the engine management light, after switching off and re-starting after a mile or so it comes back on again. No codes in the ECU log only in the Pending log and always the same two codes, as above.

Also I have noticed that when the car is cold and we go for a drive she ticks over perfectly. However, when we have driven her for a few miles and she is hot she ticks over slightly lumpy!

I am thinking about driving to Somerset next weekend (about 125 miles each way) - and was a little apprehensive in case she lets us down.

Any advice chaps?

Many thanks.

Mel.
