Getting my ZT back after a long time
OK, so I've been away from this forum for a long time. I won't bore you with the details but in short, my partner and I separated two years ago and I let her keep the ZT as it was the only car we had, etc etc. This was two years ago and I am going to soon be getting the back (YAY!). However, I have just discovered that the car has been sat on the drive for a year due to a knackered started motor that she couldn't be bothered to fix (or even let me know about).
So, undoubtedly the battery will be flat and the key I have (and the key she has) probably have dead batteries too, or maybe will have become "un-synched" (is that a thing) with the car due to not being used for some time.
I will need to get the car moved from where it is now to where I live now where I will carry out all the servicing that it will need to bring it back to life. I fully expect the boot to be full of water and I just hope to goodness the ECU isn't floating.
First question - how easy or otherwise is it going to be to move the car and how should I go about this?
Let's assume that I put a new battery in my key fob, but the car battery is dead. Am I going to be able to open the car with the key, either remotely or by inserting the key in the door? If I open it with the latter method will the alarm go off? If so, how do I then proceed?
Sorry, I've got a million questions and I didn't ever think I'd see the old girl again so am quite excited!
