Fan failure - fixed. Unique?

Hello, after all the help you have given me over the years, I thought I might be able to help someone, maybe. If not, and this is the worlds most common problem, feel free to delete.

Basically, in very slow traffic for the best part of an hour last week, ZR overheated. I was actually watching the temp gauge as it went over half way, so i was on the hard shoulder and engine off in less than ten seconds.

I had normal (max) levels of coolant, but it was clear that the engine was massively hot. Called RAC, he said may as well tow me home, and have a look there.

At home, he quickly worked out the fan wouldn't come on, but by bypassing it (straight to the battery) it worked a treat. Various trial and error, and bypassing later, he found (what I believe is unique on here?) that the permanent live to the fan relay had failed.

So, all sensors, gauges, etc were all fine, the actual relay was fine as well, its just that the perm live was buggered. He has done a temporary bypass to it, which can be shown in the pictures (if i get them working). Hope this helps someone.

If I get photos working, I'll attach a few random photos of ZR as well (wanted to for a while, but no real excuse)

Take care
