Gear selection woes. Help/guidance needed

Greetings peeps.



As per the title, I've been having trouble selecting reverse gear over the last few months and the issue has been getting steadily worse.



The problem is now affecting the selection of 2nd gear and so I'm thinking the problem could be with the "front to back" cable as opposed to the "side to side" cable.



Any guidance would be gratefully received :)
