intake air pipe

Just had the bumper off of my Rover 75 and noticed that the air intake pipe under the front wing going to the air box was soaking wet (its been raining) and it was rotten and had a big hole in it and fallen apart.

All that was left was rotten crumbly material and the internal wire coil.

Surely MGR would have had somthing better than a material type pipe that would rot ? Didn't even seem to have any sort of lining inside it.

Replaced it with a rubber one with a wire coil inside.
