LE500 Seized Calliper.

I'm pretty sure Ellie Sue doesn't want to go on the BP holiday.

She is trying to bankrupt me.

First she needed 2 new rear tyres. OK, fair enough, they were getting low and are wear items. The old ones had done 17K.

I couldn't get Goodyears so I had to get 2 Toyos for the rear. This means I had Goodyears up front and Toyos on the rear. I thought I would give it a go as a few people (not me) insist it doesn't matter what tyres you put on. I't didn't work. Even after more than a month the handling is unacceptable. I was kinda compensating and thought it wasn't too bad, but I was kidding myself and it took a rare occasion of Anne driving it to bring it home just how bad it was above 60mph.

So, I booked her in to get 2 new matching Toyos up front tomorrow.

Meantime, last week, the car got worse and worse at starting, so I had to shell out £74 for a new battery.

Well, at least that will be it...... Err, no.

Car started pulling to the left when braking.

So, I have just spent today doing an AP calliper transplant operation.

DeepBlue donated one of her new AP callipers so that Ellie Sue could go on holiday.

It actually looks like so much crud had built up around where the pads sit in the carrier and the inside pad has seized solid. You can see the fact that the inner face of the disk hasn't been getting any pad contact.

She is now working well, but I'm a bit nervous what is going to go next. :(

Off with the wheel.

Outside looks ok, usual wear.

but, what is this? Hmmmm. New calliper please.
