Oil change help!
Hi, sorry if this is somewhere elsewhere on the site, i have searched!
my situation is, i have a 1.4 16v 200, with around 72k miles, i've had it since 67.5k (last october). it's never had an oil change with me, and i can't find any evidence of it having had one anywhere in the history i got with it. to be fair, it was in fantastic condition for its age, so i'd be highly surprised if it hadn't ever had one, though it's safe to assume it hasn't had one for a long time at least.
I'll be using castrol magnatec, as i can get staff discount on it where i work, though, as it may have been a long time since the last oil change, it seems i should flush the oil. so my main question is, should i simply use an additive such as wynn's engine flush, run on cheap oil for a while to flush then switch to the magnatec (if so for how many miles?) or something else?
on a separate note, i haven't been able to find a conclusive answer on whether or not fully synthetic oil would be a good improvement, seems it's bad for vvc engines, though i haven't found anything certain on its use in non vvc engines?
thanks in advance!
