Possible issues or just being over cautious
Hi all,
So I've been driving and having some topless fun with my mg tf 135.
I've noticed that my coolant level keeps dropping over a period of a week, well enough to send alarm bells ringing.
When I first bought the car, I had to top up the coolant every few days and immediately changed the expansion tank cap with a newish spare one I had lying around, this has slowed the coolant loss down considerably.
My dilemma is it is still going down albeit not as fast, so I changed the cap for a brand new one and its still doing it.
There are no leaks whatsoever that I can find, no staining etc.
However I did find small traces of white gunk in the oil dip stick at the bottom, but I'm assuming this is condensation.
Temp gauge is normal, fans kick in when they should and it drives spot on, no worries there.
I'm used to watching everything like a hawk as I learnt a lot since having my rover 200 diesel.
Any advice as to what's causing it?
Could it be a simple case of the system needs flushing and bleeding as the car came with full service history and kept in a garage for a while?
Sorry for the long post
