rover 25 no start

Hi I have rover 25 I have gone to use it today but it won't start . it made a sml turning noise the went into I loud clicking noise when u turn the key to start. I've tried a few times now to start it and now its just constantly the clicking noise. I've been told to charge the battery but I've just had the battery on a tester and its saying theirs 11.9v in the battery . so any advise what it could be thanks.
