Very Heavy Clutch Pedal

As I have recently acquired my MG TF 160 I am taking advantage of the sunshine and using as much as possible. The clutch on this car seems to be very heavy but works normally with no concerns. Are TFs renowned for a heavy clutch or do I have a problem? Any comments welcome Thank You
