Is a Mk1 diesel gear stick assembly same as Mk2?

Looking to fix my floppy gear stick issue, the rubber bush has collapsed and is sliced/ripped 4/5 times. I know that this rubber bush cannot be bought as a replacement so I will need to buy the whole gear stick assembly until it connects to the iron block at the bottom. Will the MK2 assembly connect the same as the Mk1?
