Help MGF TF Probs in OZ

Hello all ...

Just joined as purchased a 2002 MGF TF in Perth Australia

Just had head gasket replaced .. on the way home steam came out of expansion cap and lost water.

Before head gasket Car revs struggle when in drive and with foot on brake. ( Auto ). In park it still jumps from around 500 to 800 RPM.

I phoned the garage and he said just fill it up and see how things go. Is this normal?

Sorry mixed up 2 points above. Maybe thats what happens down under

Lovely car but bugger me it is doing my head in.

It will be going to a Rover garage for diagnostic checks as could just be electrical issues.
