VNT ZS Value.
I am testing the water here so to speak and weighing up my options, nothing is set in stone but if somebody offers the correct money I will seriously consider selling.
Life is due to get much more hectic next year so I won't have the same amount of time to spend pampering the ZS.
I cant help but think that now would be a good time to think about starting to sell up and move on to something more modern (an alternative way of saying move on to something boring). I have a good idea what I want my next car to be however the ZS needs to find a new home first to make way for it.
Before I start, this is a well known and I'd like to think well respected car on the MG Rover scene. I have owned it for 4 years and over that time transformed it into what it is today at costs which make me feel a bit nauseous looking back.
These costs have obviously been financial but also the amount of time and effort which goes into a project such as this in terms of researching components for weeks on end, fabrication work and even the effort that goes into sourcing some of the rare parts used is not to be under estimated.
What I want to know is would I be wasting my time advertising it as a complete package or would I be better off returning it to standard and trying to sell the upgrades?
To help, here are the main specs with my estimated second hand value for each component:
Steel caged gearbox with TorSen type B LSD £250
Stage 3 CG motorsport ceramic clutch £150 / £300 new
GAZ coilovers £350 / £600 new
620 Ti front brake set up, v6 rears £200 all in
Wingy back box (1 of 6) £150
Custom high flow injectors £200 / cost £240 + injectors
Short shift polly bushed linkage £50
VNT turbo kit comprising:
GT1852v (clocked for L series)
Custom downpipe
Modified manifold for ext WG
Electronic control (map-able)
N75
3 bar MAP sensor
External WG
All adaptor plates
Custom oil feed/ return
New core with uprated internals £500, cost me thousands
FMIC £250 complete
Team dynamics 1.2 wheels (immaculate)
with Kumho tyres (like new) £500
MG TF leather wheel with fitting kit £60
If an offer was made on the complete car (which i would much prefer) then bear in mind the following:
Full cylinder head rebuilt last summer with new head bolts, all new gaskets, valve stem seals (all genuine parts)
New water pump less than 6 months ago
Cambelt and pump belt been changed twice in my ownership
New battery last summer
The car is mechanically sound and in great condition for its age.
I also have:
Standard TD suspension
17" straights with tyres
Standard clutch and gearbox (box great condition)
Standard turbo, manifold and downpipe
Spare front and rear lights
2x catalytic converters
EGR valves
SDI injectors
Standard injectors
etc etc...
The list goes on and on and on but to cut a long story short this is as quick as you can reliably make a ZS go both round corners and in a straight line.
I have receipts for just about everything and several rolling road print outs to demonstrate power. It has service history like no other you will find.
This is not set in stone but if anyone is genuinely interested then please let me know. I just want a fair price and I'm a sensible realistic guy so try your luck, I can only say no :).
Literally thousands more pics on request :)
