engine mods for mpi

Evening all, I have been buying stuff on the bay again and would appreciate any comments and suggestions before I waste even more money!

As it stand my '97 BRG mpi (Beryl) has had the following spoons of mint sauce applied:-

TTmk3 exhaust

K&N57i air filter

52mm throttle body

Higher lift/duration cams (I don't know what they are but the lift is similar to BP270)

TF135 steering rack

16" 11 spoke wheels with Falken FK452 215/40/ZR16

304/240 drilled and grooved discs with ap 4 pots at the front

I have also swapped the interior out for leather seats, steering wheel, hand brake and gear knob plus both gaitors. Fitted a mk1 carbon console kit and changed the door card inserts for a sort of carbon look weave.

I have sitting in my garage (for wildly varying durations) the following items:-

TF160 cylinder head (I think from an 03, covered 63k)

VVC plenum and inlet manifold (from mk1)

Mike Satur slick shift kit

New soft top with glass screen

My next purchase will be an Emerald ECU of some type (I think the early ones will be OK?), but what next? I can't fit or modify any of the above stuff myself, so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Beryl drives very well (only done 45k), she pulls pretty hard above 4k right up to the red line, but she lacks some low rev torque. Maybe a 4-2-1 manifold and sports/de cat could help?

She steers and brakes well, but I recently managed to cook to brakes on some late night Surrey B road mayhem after around 15mins, so I need some better pads. I got Mintex ones with the discs around 600 miles ago, but they must be rubbish. Any suggestion please?

Sorry for the rambling post, you will be pleased to know I have now switched from vodka/red bull to vodka/red grape juice.

Thanks for reading!

Luke
