Which is LH and which is RH side?

may seem like a silly question...



where the base of the roof meets the car at the back, there is a black metal trim that curves around to finish it. it is in 2 halves with a join in the middle. the previous owner of my LE500 damaged the one side when he put the hard top on, and crushed the trim slightly on the bend on the passenger side.

Is LH/RH when you are standing facing the car, so passenger side is RH, or is it when you are sitting in the car, making drivers side RH?
