Loose back end
First off, I'm talking about the car! :)
My car has been lowered professionally using knuckles. When it was first done, the car felt very planted whereas prior to the lowering it had always felt a little insecure on the back end. Last winter I had an accident in icy conditions when the back flipped out on me at,thankfully, low speed. I had the car four wheel aligned and checked out following the incident as I wanted to make sure it was safe. I also had the suspension pumped up a little as it was so low that speed humps became impossible to accommodate without scraping the underfloor. The car has been OK during this summer's fine weather but today at low speed once more it tried to flip out again as I went round an island. This time during heavy rain it has to be said. This my 4th F and I've never had a handling issue with any of the others. I am certainly no 'boy racer' so don't think it's me.
I spoke to the place that did the lowering and they suggest I change the tyres on the rear (I have Federal on the rear an Toyos on the front). They also suggest putting poly rear tie bar bushes on the back to stiffen it all up a bit.
I can't afford to do both at once so wondered what the consensus would be and what advice anybody might have as I am rapidly losing faith in the car now. I would like to enjoy driving it whatever the conditions are.
Thanks,
Jason
