Oopps what have I done??

Ok so yesterday I had the simple job of changing the brake pads on the wifes ZS, once the wheel was off spotted the cv boot had split so before dismantling popped down to SMC and picked up a boot kit.

on striping everything down then found the abs ring was split, this time a trip to euro for a replacement cv joint.

eventually got everything back together including the original job of brake pads. however went to test drive the car and it all went wrong reversed out of the drive engaged first went about 6 feet then nothing, no drive. engaged reverse still nothing - engine just revs and sounds like something is trying to turn but not engaged. any suggestions as to what I have buggered up.

Not happy as what should have been a quick hour changing pads turned into a whole afternoon and a car that now wont move under it own steam. wife isn't happy either.
