Repair seat back adjuster

Did a repair on my drivers seat today as the adjuster on the back of the seat was doing nothing when I turned the knob .

Removed the rear panel on the seat (a mission!!) has 6 clips holding it on.

Need to pull the bottom out first,pull it outward and it will unclick two clips at the bottom,then work on the two clips each side. (a flat ruler works well) then when unclipped the panel can be pulled downward and it comes off.

A word of warning, the side clips can get damaged if you pull the top half to hard without releasing the panel clips.

Had a look inside the back and found a plastic panel with a cable mechanisim in the back of the seat.

Basically theres a adjuster cable attached to a nylon panel which is also attached to a number of tie wires in the back of the seat.When adjusted it bends the panel a different points.My panel was snapped in two bits,took it out, got some nylon off cuts,got the solderring iron out and melted a whole lot of nylon material and re welded the bits back together,now works fine,nice to have some rear adfjustment on long trips.
