A few MORE questions...
Starting to get REAL tiered of my MG ZR now.. so to spruce things up and re-ignite my love I decided to go 1.8T :) Now whilst I have most of the bits for the conversion I still feel like its going to take me a while. Now just out of curiosity I was looking around my zr and I decided to check the tailgate wiring loom (which I have never done yet), all seems normal. I then also decided to check the wiring loom behind my o/s/r light (where the rest of the loom is) and to my absolute horror I discovered that the previous owner (or someone else) has chopped some wire out and replaced it with some extension cable cord with a multiblock on it (yes that's right!, extension cable; the kind you all have in your home).
Now... I would like to put this all back correctly and right, so does anyone have any idea what loom it is I need to buy? (YMN000260???).
Also I have no idea if this is related to it or not but for the last year or so my MIL light has constantly flashed on and off when it pleases. Upon plugging the diagnostic I get the error codes
P0313 "Misfire detected with low fuel"
&
P0300 "Random/Multiple cylinder misfire detected"
I have been trying to trace the cause of these codes for a while without success. I can't feel a misfire and the engine itself performs fine, also to add insult to injury this engine that is in my current ZR came from my previous (now scrapped) ZR and it was working top notch in that zr. So I know this problem is NOT engine related, but is something that is body/loom related or something else like a sensor or something. I have changed/bought:
1 New pre cat lambda
1 New post cat lambda
new fuel filter
new inlet manifold gasket
new set of coil packs
new set of spark plugs
new set of ht leads
new inlet manifold
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this problem as it is now driving me INSANE, literally.
I have thought of a few possible causes (of which I have not yet looked into) which I would like a second opinion on.
Blocked CAT?
The loom mentioned above?
faulty ecu?
something shorting out somewhere? (weirdly my interior light works as and when it wants, shorting out on something)
failing fuel pump? (what are the chances/rarity of this happening?)
Thanks a lot (apologies for the long post but I would really like to address this now)
