Exhaust replacement warning
Hi all,
Just a quick warning - I needed a replacement exhaust for my 2004 ZT-T. I found 3 options - Eurocarparts Klarius - £65.00, Fleabay - Hoffman £99.00 or Rimmers £160.00. So I went for the Eurocarparts thinking they must all be fairly similar. It turned up with the first bend crimped to about 50% diameter at the wrong angle. So it went back. Not wanting to risk another, or not being able to return Fleabay I figured Rimmers aftermarket option (there are no oem left) must be a dead cert so I paid the extra cash. Got it fitted a few days ago only to discover that it's about 6 inches short at eh back box meaning the pipes are hidden under the car. At first I thought the original pipe had been cut too short by the mechanic, but when I got under the car I realised it is because the back box hangers are not placed correctly on the box. They are too far towards the pipes, so it is the backbox manufacturer (in this case Regal) at fault. I'll be speaking to Rimmers tomorrow, but in the meantime if anyone has any suggestions as to a fix, I'm all ears.
What's annoying about this is that the box looks identical to the Hoffman on Fleabay for £70.00ish cheaper.
Just thought I should warn in case anyone else makes the same assumptions and get stye same result. Was thinking I could put chrome tailpipes on, but they cost a lot (£15 each) and I'll have to cut the tailpipes to get them on.
