I'm back! In a £500 ZS 180!
Well I Finally done it!
Brought myself a 2001 MG ZS 180 yesterday to cover the winter duties whilst the TF is off the road! It's nice to be back in a ZS in fairness! :)
The car was brought as a trade sale as a part ex a localish dealer had taken in a few weeks back, has a highish mileage at 110k miles, no service history and the most garish alloy wheels on it so we settled at £500 for a running driving, taxed and MOTed ZS, although desperately needing a service!!
However the car also came with a few goodies such as missing boot carpet and parcel shelf, unpolished body for at least a few years, a very worn drivers seat, seemingly lowered suspension, missing engine cover, but it did however come with a fat Milltek exhaust! Never seen one of these for a ZS before and it sounds really nice actually! :)
Few other issues to sort are;
Dash clock lights not working each side,
Coolant level dropping - new cap seems to have stopped this fingers crossed!
Wonky exhaust
Heater not working on 1 and 2 - cba to solder resistor yet but easy fix
Wheel catches on the arch liner on the front off side,
Rear brakes need doing and handbrake adjusting!
And that's all I can remember of the top of my head! :D
So this will be the start of project Shedess - (ZS) it's hard to believe a ZS 180 can be picked up nowadays for £500 although it's in a much unloved state it's hopefully gonna be an okay winter runner! Fingers crossed! Although I'm very tempted just to get a set of cheap coilovers And sit it on its arse! :P
I will get pictures up tomorrow after a quick scrub! And report back any other findings and jobs to do! :D
